The abundant life - How God sees you (P04). - Saturday, 7 October
We often don’t take inventory of what we think about and meditate on, and yet the Word of God shows us that this is vital. Too many of us are careless with what we think about, and then we wonder why we have the problems that we do. For example, peace doesn’t just happen to you; it’s a natural by-product of focusing on God and His promises and choosing to trust Him.

You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
    because he trusts in you.”
Isaiah 26:3 ESV

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
Philippians 4:6-8 NKJV

Now that we’re in Christ we shouldn’t focus on the failings of the flesh. We should focus on the victory we have because of who we are in Christ. The number one reason that so many Christians live in defeat is that they focus on the flesh more than on the spirit.

“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
Romans 8:6 NKJV

Choose to focus on what God says about you, not what you feel about yourself or what you see or hear about yourself. The more you think of yourself as God thinks about you the more you’ll start to live like it!

  • I may approach God with boldness, freedom, and confidence. (Ephesians 3:12)
  • I am righteous and holy. (Ephesians 2:24)
  • I am capable. (Philippians 4:13)
  • I have been rescued from the domain of Satan’s rule and transferred to the kingdom of Christ. (Colossians 1:13)
  • I have been redeemed and forgiven of all my sins. The debt against me has been cancelled. (Colossians 1:14)
  • I am a holy partaker of a heavenly calling. (Hebrews 3:1)
Have a great day!

Much love,
Shayne
