Jesus: our firm foundation!
Everything that we are and all that we have is because of Jesus and what He has done for us and is freely offering us. He is the reason that we can have a good relationship with God, strong faith and all that salvation includes. It’s all about Jesus and all praise, glory and thanks go to Him. We simply partake in the fruit of His finished work. As you read through the following verses and fill-in-the-blanks, reflect on Jesus who is your firm foundation.
“Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, he united us into the very life of Christ and saved us by his wonderful grace!”
Ephesians 2:5 The Passion Translation (TPT)
“even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)”
Ephesians 2:5 New King James Version (NKJV)
I was dead in sins BUT now I am
______________________________________________ with Christ

Through Christ Jesus, God shows __________________________________ toward me
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God”
Ephesians 2:8 English Standard Version (ESV)
“For it was only through this wonderful grace that we believed in him. Nothing we did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the gracious gift from God that brought us to Christ!”

Salvation is the _______________________________________

Ephesians 2:20 The Passion Translation (TPT)
“built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone”

“For no one is empowered to lay an alternative foundation other than the good foundation that exists, which is Jesus Christ!”
1 Corinthians 3:11 The Passion Translation (TPT)
We do not build our faith and relationship with God on our bests efforts to live holy and do what’s right. Our performance fluctuates and so if we are building on what we do for God, we will never be good enough and our walk with God will always be inconsistent. The foundation of our faith, salvation and relationship with God is Jesus and what He has done for us. Our faith, salvation and relationship with God are secure because we have a firm foundation in Christ and what He has done for us.
