God is with you! – Saturday, 04 November
“…I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Hebrews 13:5b NKJV
You don’t know for sure what is going to happen today, or this week. Life happens and sometimes the pressure can get pretty intense. Sometimes the pressure we experience is finance related; we have to pay the bills, and we need money for day-to-day living. It doesn’t matter how much pressure you’re under and how bad the circumstances may get, you have a guarantee that God Almighty (your Daddy) is always with you – He has promised to never ever leave you or turn His back on you.
You may feel like the mess you’re in is your fault, and maybe it is. You may have made some unwise decisions and as a result, you’re suffering (reaping the consequences). There is no condemnation in Christ (Romans 8:1). God didn’t promise to only be with you when you made good decisions – He’s with you even when you make foolish decisions and mess up. You may not feel His presence and you may feel like He is miles and miles away but the truth is that He is always with you – whether you feel Him or not! He will not abandon you, even when you mess up. And He isn’t merely with you, but He’s with you to help you.
“God is our protection and source of strength. He is always ready to help us in times of trouble.”
Psalm 46:1 ERV
“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For
He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Hebrews 13:5 NKJV
The promise of God never leaving us is given in the context of finances. It’s so easy to feel like God has forsaken us when we have financial difficulties (especially if it’s the result of a bad decision), but He doesn’t. He’s still there. He will never leave us nor abandon us.
“Keep your lives free from the love of money. And be satisfied with what you have. God has said, “I will never leave you; I will never run away from you.”
Hebrews 13:5 ERV
God is with us, therefore, we don’t have to allow financial circumstances to cause us worry, fear or anxiety. Our hope and security are not in the economy but in the Lord. Because He is with us and because we have His unmerited favour (Romans 8:31) we can be confident and secure knowing that He is our provider (Matthew 6:25-34; Philippians 4:19).
