God is on your side – Tuesday, 29 August
1 Samuel 17:26 (NKJV)
Circumcision was a sign of the covenant or agreement that they had with God – it served as a reminder that they were God’s chosen people and that they were heirs of the Abrahamic promise. David was reminding everyone that the enemy had no agreement or covenant with God and therefore they had no chance against the armies of Israel. King Saul and the soldiers were looking at the giant through natural eyes. David was looking at him through the eyes of the covenant. No matter how big and scary your giants may seem because you have a relationship with God the giants you face don’t stand a chance.
Don’t look at your giants (problems, challenges, and negative circumstances) like the rest of the world – you have a relationship with God which gives you a huge advantage. We do not have to suffer what the world suffers – we have God on our side and with God, no giant is too big and nothing is ever impossible!
“But I thank God, who always leads us in victory because of Christ.”
2 Corinthians 2:14 (NOG)
God’s will for you is to have victory over every giant that you face. No good father likes to see their children suffer, even if it’s because of their own stupidity. Whenever we face giants (like sickness, financial challenges, unemployment etc.) we shouldn’t be shaking in fear like the world does – we should be rising up with confidence and faith in our God, and we should see the giant as an opportunity for a great testimony. We all want to see miracles, but to have a miracle you need to have a crisis. So whenever you face a crisis, don’t panic or run in fear – stand confidently and declare God’s promise of victory over your situation.
Everyone was scared because of how big the giant was, but David saw how big the giant was and probably thought, “He is so big, I can’t miss!”. Start seeing your giants through the eyes of the covenant – through the eyes of relationship with God.
Whatever your giant, Google “Scriptures on X” and you’ll easily find many scriptures to encourage you in your situation. Here are a few examples:

Shayne
