Predestined!

You are called and chosen by God! He picked you out for Himself as His own. You are not an afterthought but were predestined or foreordained, as the Amplified Bible puts it. Before God created the heavens and the earth, in love He predestined, pre-planned or marked-out something…

“Predestined” basically means pre-planned or predetermined – to mark out something. This verse is revealing the value and worth that God has in us. God predetermined (or chose beforehand) that something specific should happen…

This verse is not saying that He predetermined that you would be wearing green today, or that everything in your life would happen the way that it has. God doesn’t predetermine everything that happens in your life. God cannot predetermine the things that you have to make decisions about. But some things are set. For example, as much as you want to be a different skin colour, gender or even species you can’t – those things are set. God hasn’t predetermined everything but this verse reveals that one of the things that He has predetermined is that you “be adopted as His own children through Jesus Christ”.
 
You are not the result of a cosmic-mixed-up-accident. God purposed you, planned you and desired you. Out of His love for you, He predetermined to have you as His own child. You are not an afterthought, but you were predestined and foreordained; you were appointed beforehand (before creation) by God Almighty “to be adopted as His own children through Jesus Christ” – to be a child of God.

God predetermined that as soon as you received Jesus as Lord and Saviour, you would be adopted as His child! God has never changed His mind about you – He has always wanted you to be close to Him as His son or daughter. God cannot change His mind about you! He loves you and accepts you as His child! He wants you to enjoy a relationship with Him for eternity as His beloved son or daughter. All you need to do is accept the truth that Jesus was raised from the dead and recognize Him as Lord (supreme and ultimate authority overall) and you step into your destiny as a child of God!
