đź’ŞÂ Always be full of courage!
“So no wonder we don’t give up. For even though our outer person gradually wears out, our inner being is renewed every single day. 17 We view our slight, short-lived troubles in the light of eternity. We see our difficulties as the substance that produces for us an eternal, weighty glory far beyond all comparison, 18 because we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal.”
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Â
People who are overcome by their problems are focused on and value things which are temporal more than things which are eternal. You can shrink your problems down when you put things into perspective and choose to focus on things which are eternal. This is a key to living in victory and joy! Yes, you may be going through a really tough time right now, and yes, Jesus sympathizes with you (Hebrews 4:17) and wants to help you, but one way to help yourself get through whatever you’re going through is to realize that in 10,000 years’ time what you’re going through will be but a distant memory! Considering eternity nothing is all that bad. It’s not ignoring your problems and saying that they don’t exist, but rather it’s devaluing your problems (which are temporal) and valuing things which are eternal!
Â
“We are convinced that even if these bodies we live in are folded up at death like tents, we will still have a God-built home that no human hands have built, which will last forever in the heavenly realm. 2 We inwardly sigh as we live in these physical “tents,” longing to put on a new body for our life in heaven, 3 in the belief that once we put on our new “clothing” we won’t find ourselves “naked.” 4 So, while living in this “tent,” we groan under its burden, not because we want to die but because we want these new bodies. We crave for all that is mortal to be swallowed up by eternal life. 5 And this is no empty hope, for God himself is the one who has prepared us for this wonderful destiny. And to confirm this promise, he has given us the Holy Spirit, like an engagement ring, as a guarantee.
“That’s why we’re always full of courage. Even while we’re at home in the body, we’re homesick to be with the Master— 7 for we live by faith, not by what we see with our eyes.”
2 Corinthians 5:1-7 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Â
When you live by faith you will always be full of courage! When you have a revelation of eternity and start walking by faith (focused on eternal things like the Word and God’s power) and not by sight, you will be secure in this life and will start to walk in unspeakable joy despite the circumstances. You need to value the eternal above and beyond the temporal! Don’t be moved by what you see or feel – these things are temporal – but rather be moved by God’s Word which is true, faithful and eternal.
Â
“God, you’re such a safe and powerful place to find refuge!
You’re a proven help in time of trouble—
more than enough and always available whenever I need you.
2 So we will never fear
even if every structure of support[b] were to crumble away.
We will not fear even when theearth quakes and shakes,
moving mountains and casting them into the sea.
3 For the raging roar of stormy winds and crashing waves
cannot erode our faith in you.”
Psalm 46:1-3Â The Passion Translation (TPT)
