🌟 Goodwill!

 “13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
Luke 2:13-14 NKJV

As I was meditating on this verse one day I realized that I usually skipped over the goodwill part because I didn’t really know what it meant. So I looked it up and saw that goodwill can be defined as satisfaction, delight, kindness or good pleasure. This word beautifully describes what Jesus came to accomplish! The angels were announcing goodwill toward mankind, which means that because of Jesus, God is now satisfied with you. He delights in you. He is kind towards you, and He has good pleasure in you!

It’s difficult for us to accept this when we look at ourselves, but we need to remember that it’s all undeserved favour – grace! We didn’t do anything to deserve this favour from God – it’s all because Jesus came, died and rose to life, for us. This favour cannot be earned, deserved or achieved – it’s a gift which must be received.

Because of Jesus, God is now satisfied with you, He delights in you, He is kind towards you and He has good pleasure in you!
